Who We Are

SolarShine is a family business in the truest sense! We have built this business from the ground up sitting around a kitchen table. From the blue and orange color scheme to the SolarShine name and logo; the building design to the paper towel holders in the bathroom - everything has been discussed around Mama Watts family dinners. We opened our first SolarShine location in mid-2019, but this dream has been in the works since way back in 2010. While we are very proud of what we have accomplished, we didn't do it alone and we don't want to miss any opportunity to give back to our communities. So we have instituted the SolarShine Give Back Program that will allow us to donate a portion of our profits monthly to non-profit organizations that positively impact our communities. (Follow our social media to learn more about our Give Back Program.) Now we'd like you to meet our family!

AndyWatts

Andy Watts is the Managing Partner of the SolarShine brand. He is married to Beverly and their two kids and spouses are also part of the family business. They are blessed with six grand kids and enjoy the weekly family gatherings with them all. Andy uses his 40+ years of Commercial Construction and development experience to develop and build new Solar Shine locations.

JasonBannister

Jason Bannister is a co-owner of SolarShine and the General Manager of the Monroe location. Jason grew up in Union County, living in Weddington until he graduated from Charlotte Christian and moved to Tennessee for college. His love for the Tennessee Vols runs deep – as you’ll see reflected in our orange crown on top of the building.

Jason has extensive experience in retail and the food service industry and knows how to provide excellent customer service and create a fun working environment! Jason and his family live in Union County and are excited to bring SolarShine to the community of Monroe!

Jason has chosen Ground 40 as his recipient for our Give Back program. Ground 40 is a locally organization in Monroe, NC dedicated to helping men recover from addiction, reunite with families, repair relationships and transition back into their communities.

Bryan Watts

Bryan Watts is one of our co-owners. He began exploring the car wash business in June of 2010, and nearly a decade later is glad to finally see a good plan come together. Married to Elisabeth, and dad to four kids, he lives in uptown Charlotte. Bryan has spent most of his career in information technology and data analytics, with a side of driving race cars, real estate, and entrepreneurism. A foodie who has enjoyed a garden and backyard chickens in the past, he has a new found passion for hunting and enjoys the solitude that comes from being outdoors. When he’s not at the car wash or in the woods, he may be found learning to make charcuterie or riding waves at the beach.

Bryan has chosen The Heartest Yard and Back Country Hunters & Anglers as his recipients for our Give Back program. He hopes to support children who, like his daughter, are born with ailing hearts; and to aid in the conservation of wild places and wild things for future generations to know, enjoy and explore.

Ashley Bannister

Ashley Bannister is the wife of Jason and Office Manager for SolarShine. Ashley grew up in Winston-Salem and moved to Charlotte after college. Ashley and Jason and their two kids have lived in Union County for almost 10 years. Ashley has over a decade of experience in Operations and Sales and will be a key player in making the back office run smoothly! Ashley is passionate about supporting parents and families of preemies and providing guidance on life in the NICU. Ashley has chosen Pierce’s Project as her give back program.

Elisabeth Watts

Elisabeth Watts is one of our co-owners. She is a Charlotte native, married to Bryan, and they live in Uptown Charlotte with their four kids. Elisabeth loves traveling the world, sometimes alone and sometimes with all the kids in tow. She is also passionate about plant medicine (notice the amazing antibacterial essential oils included in our SolarShine towel program!), foster care & adoption, CHD Awareness, and supporting the arts. Her role at SolarShine is in marketing, events, and social media.

Elisabeth has chosen Foster Village Charlotte as her chosen recipient for our Give Back program.

Beverly Watts

Beverly Watts (aka Mama Watts) is the matriarch behind our business. She is a creative entrepreneur who has had many side hustles including interior design, real estate, and oils coach. She spends much of her time being the best grandma to her 6 grandchildren. Mama Watts has chosen Operation Underground Railroad as her give back program recipient.
